Sam Adams Kicks Off Octoberfest Season

Wednesday September 9, 2009

Sure, we’re closer to the end of August than we are to the beginning of October, but who are we to argue with the fine folks at Samuel Adams?

In what is probably the earliest Octoberfest in the region, taking place this Saturday at the Park Plaza Castle, Samuel Adams will throw its annual celebration featuring 10 hours of German Beer Hall events, including two live bands, table games, and more than 10 varieties of Sam Adams beer available at the cash bar. That’s the good news. Bad news is, it’s sold out.

Well, not entirely, there will be a limited amount of tickets ($15) available at the door Saturday, so get in line early (things gets started at noon, so we’d suggest arriving a few hours earlier than that if you want to be one of the lucky few). There is another option though. On Friday, there will be an "OFest Reception" held at the castle. For $35, you’ll receive a VIP preview, souvenir mug, four beers, table games, music, and you'll get to hear guest speaker Jim Koch, founder of the brewery. Tickets for the Friday event are still available through www.beersummit.com.

Enjoy responsibly, and , of course, prost.
