U.S. News and World Report released its 2011 rankings of colleges today, and Harvard University has taken the top spot this year, after sharing that honor in 2009 with Princeton University.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology also made the Top 10, coming in at No. 7. While the rankings are often scoffed at as a popularity contest, the list is annually watched closely by college-bound high school students.
Here's how other Boston-area colleges made the grade:
No. 28: Tufts University
No. 31: Boston College
No. 34: Brandeis University
No. 56: Boston University
No. 69: Northeastern University
