Super Bowl Tickets Won't Come Cheaply

By , About.com Guide   January 24, 2012

Follow me on:

Heading to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl? Better have a hefty wallet.

As if flights weren't outrageous enough, there is, of course, the little matter of securing a ticket to the game between the Patriots and Giants. Tickets are running in the thousands of dollars on StubHub, where there were more than 3,000 remaining on Tuesday afternoon. The cheapest option: A $2,490 end zone seat at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Yikes.

There is hope, though. As The New York Times' Fifth Down blog pointed out a few days ago, prices tend to fall as the game grows closer. Then again, seeing that this will be a rematch of the Game That Will Not Be Mentioned between two of the NFL's bigger fan bases, that may not be the case this time around.

Are you thinking of heading to the game, or are you just fine in front of your TV?
