Summer in the city brings with it a myriad of events, and June is annually one of the most vibrant months in the city of Boston, where American history shines in preparation of Independence Day. From the popular Scooper Bowl to the beginning of Boston’s annual Fourth of July festivities, June annually kicks off the tourist season, with plenty to see, do, and taste.

For the 27th straight year, the AIDS walk takes place on the first Sunday of June to help raise funds for the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts.

The ultra-popular ice cream festival returns to City Hall Plaza with dozens of flavors - courtesy Baskin and Robbins, Ben and Jerry's, Edy's, and more - on hand. Proceeds benefit the Jimmy Fund's cancer research.

Sign up to walk and help raise some of the event’s $1.6 fundraising goal. Since 2003, NSTAR has raised almost $10 million for the hospital’s patient care. A seven-mile walk begins at 11 a.m.; a two-mile walk gets underway at Noon.
