Since 1933, the Boston Center for Adult Education has offered classes all week and weekend long for those looking to broaden their knowledge on a variety of topics. With everything from entertaining lessons like dance or cooking, to professional computer or writing courses, the classes are an affordable way to learn something new and exciting for your job or just for your hobbies. They hire experts to pass along their knowledge to small classes, where everyone can participate, making it a great way to take in new information.
Coming up on June 14, 2011 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm, they are offering those who register a chance to get up close and personal with Donna Garlough, the Food Editor of Boston Magazine. In this new exciting course, called Demystifying the Menu, she will be guiding interested participants around the South End to three of the areas best restaurants. For $30 for tuition and $30 for materials, you can enjoy one course of delicious cuisine at Coppa, Gaslight, and Petit Robert.
This is a great opportunity to “demystify” some of the questions many wonder when dining out at restaurants that feature more then just American cuisine. She will go over the lay out of the menu and even how to pronounce some of the offerings at each restaurant. You will really get the chance to ask an expert, with years of experience in the industry, about dining etiquette and about the food at each spot.
Best of all, you will have the chance to tour around the South End and sip signature drinks and sample menu selections from some of the best restaurants in Boston. The BCAE is located right near the Arlington T stop in the Back Bay area, at 122 Arlington Street in Boston. You can visit the website or call 617-267-4430 to sign up to participate in this interesting and unique culinary tour, three course dinner, and class and to check out their full list of class offerings.
