Dining Out Options on Thanksgiving

By , About.com Guide

The Norman Rockwell vision of Thanksgiving at home might not be for everyone, which is why a good number of Boston restaurants offer special holiday menus for those looking to dine out for the day. Here’s a look at some of the options for leaving the cooking to someone else:

  • The Beehive: The South End eatery and bar features a traditional, a la carte menu with some twists (mushroom brioche stuffing, anyone?) Live music will be on tap throughout the day.
  • Bread and Company Bistro: This Somervile establishment offers a $24.95 all-you-can-eat buffet beginning at noon.
  • Davio’s: One of Boston’s premier steak houses offers a $35 Thanksgiving plate including oven-roasted Vermont free-range organic turkey, challah bread herbed stuffing, and a dessert menu.
  • Eastern Standard: The swanky, Kenmore Square hangout will have a prix-fixe menu for $50 per person, including – but not limited to – choices of oysters, lobster Newburg, and pumpkin chiffon pie.
  • L’Espalier: From 1:30-8 p.m., this popular Back Bay locale will offer an $85 prix-fixe menu with plenty of options.
  • Rialto: The Cambridge restaurant, regarded as one of the area’s finest Italian hotspots, offers a four-course prix-fixe menu with traditional Thanksgiving fare for $70.
  • Sandrine’s: This inviting French restaurant in Harvard Square offers a Thanksgiving menu from 1-8 p.m.
  • Sel de la Terre: Both the Back Bay and Waterfront locations will have a prix-fixe, $58 menu for the holiday. Takeout is also available.
  • Top of the Hub: The $58 menu will be accompanied by live jazz entertainment.
  • Turner Fisheries: The Back Bay seafood spot will feature a menu with a complete raw bar, dinner buffet, and dessert buffet for $65 per person.
  • Vlora Mediterranean Restaurant and Wine Bar: A three-course prix-fixe menu including apple butternut squash soup or Greek salad, roast turkey or salmon, and apple crisp or pumpkin pie.
