There are plenty of free things to do in Boston. Now, here's one more
Each September, Smithsonian Magazine offers free admission to museums nationwide through its "Museum Day." This year, the event takes place on Sept. 29, with dozens of Massachusetts museums participating in the program.

To gain free admission, visitors must fill out a form at Smithsonian.com. The ticket will be emailed to you after you submit your information, which includes name, address, and whether or not you would like to receive more information from Smithsonian Magazine. Each ticket is good for two admissions per household.
Keep in mind, you must present the printable ticket for the free admissions and that families of three or more will be required to pay each additional fee for entrance.
Though it seems quite the list, there may be some area museums not participating. For example, both Boston's Museum of Science and Children's Museum are not among those offering the deal.
