Coolidge Corner, at the crossroads of Beacon St. and Harvard Ave., is the cultural hub of Brookline, an independent village just west of Boston. Heavy Jewish influences and an old world village feel give the neighborhood distinct characteristics, despite the recent influx of generic franchises.

On-street parking can be difficult to come by, though there are three municipal parking lots to choose from. The meters in Brookline still accept nickels and dimes. The easiest way to get to Brookline is by train. The MBTA’s Green Line “C” train runs along Beacon St., and will drop you off just in front of the S.S. Pierce Building, an historic Tudor-style structure that is indicative of Coolidge Corner’s diverse architecture.
