Massachusetts is America's most Irish state, and as its capital, Boston knows a thing or two about how to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. In fact, the country's very first St. Patrick's Day celebration was held in Boston in 1737. Whether you enjoy parades, concerts, exhibits, or dinners, here are some things you can do to join in Boston's St. Patrick's Day festivities in 2008.

2008 Boston St. Patrick's Day Parade
Boston's 107th annual St. Patrick's Day parade takes place on Sunday, March 16. The parade starts at 1 pm in South Boston, one of the city's most Irish neighborhoods, and will feature marching bands, pipe bands, and floats. The parade route begins at the Broadway T Station and ends at Andrew Square. An estimated 600,000 people are expected to turn out for the event, so arrive early to stake out a good spot on Broadway. For more information, call (617) 268-7955.
