The official Copley Square Tree Lighting takes place from 5 pm to 6 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007. Mayor Thomas M. Menino and his wife will join local businesses and residents for the tree lighting in Back Bay's Copley Square. The event will feature performances by the Berklee College of Music Show Choir, and the Salvation Army band and children's choir, as well as caroling, a visit from Santa Claus, and snacks donated by area businesses.

Thousands of people gather every year for the official Boston Common holiday tree lighting. This year the event takes place at 6 pm on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007. Mayor Thomas M. Menino will flip the switch on Bostons official Christmas tree, as well as trees throughout the Common, the Public Garden, and the Commonwealth Avenue Mall. A televised holiday stage show will feature appearances by national and local performers, carolers, Santa Claus, and more.
