Lilac Sunday
Take your mother on a stroll through the lilacs during the Arnold Arboretum's annual Lilac Sunday. Admire the lilacs, watch Morris dancers, and picnic. The event takes place regardless of the weather. The Arboretum is open from dawn to dusk; refreshments will be sold from 10 am to 4 pm. A limited number of wheelchairs will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; enquire at the front desk of the Hunnewell Building.

Boston Museum Trio Mother's Day Concert

Duckling Day Parade
The Duckling Day Parade is an annual Mother's Day tradition in Boston. Sunday, May 11, kids (and adults) will dress up as their favorite character from Robert McCloskey's Make Way for Ducklings and join in the 28th annual Duckling Day Parade! The parade starts at noon; registration begins at 10 am on Boston Common across from the State House. The Harvard University Band will lead the group through Boston Common and into the Public Garden. Spend the Day Downtown
Take mom out for a nice brunch, or if the weather is nice, take her for a picnic in the Public Garden. Enjoy the sight of Boston in bloom, watch the Duckling Day Parade, and maybe go for a leisurely 15-minute ride around the Public Garden lagoon on a Swan Boat. After you eat, you can do some shopping on Newbury Street or Charles Street, or wander down to Faneuil Hall.
