  • In a Sentimental Mood
    The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, celebrates Valentine's Day early with two concerts that feature the music of Gershwin, Ellington, and Porter, as well as "Blues Forms" for solo violin by Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson.

    Sunday, Feb. 11 at 3 p.m.

  • Romance at the Cinema
    Head on over to The Brattle on Valentine’s Day to watch the cinema classic Casablanca. If you don’t have a significant other, invite someone new—it could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. The film is part of the Brattle’s Great Romances II repertory series, including favorites such as The Princess Bride, The Philadelphia Story, Annie Hall, and more (Feb. 9 - 15).

  • A Venetian Valentine

    11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
    Sneak away for a romantic midday rendevouz at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Listen to live jazz, take the “Art of Romance” self-guided tour, and enjoy a special Valentine’s menu at the Gardner Café. Free with museum admission (lunch additional).

    6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    In the evening, enjoy jazz in the courtyard, poetry and art in the “Art of Romance” self-guided tour, and a Valentine’s Day fête with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. A special guide will highlight some of the museum’s most sensual artworks and installations while the Lucas Madrazo Quartet sets a romantic mood with jazz standards.
