Indoor Children's ActivitiesFun Places Around Boston for Parties or Groups of KidsThe thing about Boston is that the weather is often bad. Either it's too cold or it's too hot, and either way you don't want to be outside for long. Here are five fun indoor places you can take a group of kids—for a birthday party or other outing—that'll keep them entertained and out of the elements. Chunky's Cinema & PubChunky's is a real kick. You sit in the theater at large tables in a rolling, reclining leather chair. If you want food—and why go there if you don't?—a waiter will take your order and deliver it to you at the table. The menu includes pub-style foods such as the Kevin Bacon Burger, the Love Me Tenders (chicken strips), and the awe-inspiring ice cream sundae the Tri Wizard Cup, which serves three to five people. You may want to get there as much as an hour beforehand, both to get good seats and to get your food ordered and delivered to cut down on the distraction from the film.
Chunky's, 371 Lowell Ave, Haverhill, Mass. (also has locations in N.H.) Monster GolfMonster Golf is an 18-hole indoor black-light minigolf course with a monster theme. (Read that again if you need time to process it.) It also has arcade games, glow-in-the-dark air hockey and skee ball, and more. There is no charge to get into the facility; arcade games take quarters and mini golf is $5 - $7 a person. Massachusetts locations include Norwood, Webster, Seekonk, and opening in 2008, Danvers, Natick/Framingham, and Fairhaven.

It features more than 60 pool tables, a prize center and arcade with hundreds of games, Go Karts, Laser Tag, batting cages, bumper cars, bowling, and a Himalaya ride. Good Time also serves food and drinks.

It also has scheduled arts and crafts, an activity pool, the Parrot Perch interactive water play structure, and the Key Quest arcade. Parents can take a break and enjoy the Lazy River, jacuzzi with flat screen TV, Wet Rooster Bar, and private cabanas. The only downside? You have to book in advance.
Sun - Thur 10 am to 9 pm & Fri to Sat 10 am to 10 pm TOMBGreat for a group outing, TOMB is a popular interactive Egyptian adventure set in a pharaoh's tomb. Participants play the part of archaeologists looking for a missing professor and must complete a variety of fun puzzles and challenges or meet their doom! Though not utterly terrifying, TOMB's spooky brand of fun is perhaps better suited for slightly older kids.Read a review of TOMB by About.com’s Go New England guide.
