A national historic landmark and downtown Boston’s oldest building, The Paul Revere House at 19 North Square is one of a few remaining from the early days of colonial America. Built sometime around 1680, this distinctive wooden structure stands out among all the tall brick buildings that populate the North End. Paul Revere, best known for his midnight ride to warn of the British troops' march on Concord, owned the home from 1770 to 1800. In April 1908 it opened to the public as one of America’s earliest historic house museums.
